Anniversary, of the scary kind ...

Exactly a year ago, we wrote here “Virus Alert: The best prepared government!” hanseatichunter.com/post/virus-alert-the-best-prepared-government

highlighting the 88-page document by the German government from 2013 in preparation of two risk events, one being the Modi-SARS pandemic. We wrote, “… you do have to wonder if the current situation is just incompetence combined with arrogance or whether there is some other explanation.”

The tragic thing is that after the German government’s actions of the last three days, we have to say that this statement is even more valid now. Again, I urge you to read the paper and you will see that “best prepared” was not meant facetiously.

One thing that has changed is the popular support of the lockdown policies. A year ago, about 2/3 of Germans approved of the strict government measures. Statista’s most recent poll, done just before (!) Monday’s events, now shows the reverse with 2/3 disapproving.
